VOLUNTEERING AT HIGHWOOD

We welcome volunteers at Highwood Copse Primary School, and we aim to match the needs of the school with the skills and interests of the volunteer. We ask the volunteers to commit to a week, a fortnight or ideally a regular weekly time slot so that teachers can plan and prepare for their visit. Parents will not work in the same class as a child or relative. Volunteers support the class teacher and may sometimes be asked to work alone with children carrying out tasks such as reading. Volunteers will be asked to provide:

• A completed ‘Volunteering at Highwood Copse Primary School’ form
• A completed DBS form
• A signed acknowledgement of our Code of Conduct Policy (this will be provided to you upon application)
• 2 personal or professional character references

Volunteers will not be allowed to attend school site until all of the above is completed and the school office inform you that your DBS checks have been finalised.
